Sheffield is a cultural hotbed, a hive of musical talent and a wonderful city. Tramlines festival invokes this significant culture, its first like up announcement is a clear sign of intent of this years edition of the long running festival.
2017 sees The Libertines, All Saints, The Coral, Toots and Maytals and Metronomy all head to Yorkshire. The line up also includes The Pharcyde, Twin Atlantic, Loyle Carner, Hot 8 Brass Band, Don Letts, Omar Souleyman, M.O, Cate Le Bon, Nadia Rose, Akala, We Are Scientists amongst many others still to be announced.
The Sheffield based festival takes place across its City Centre from 21-23rd July 2017. The summer festival has often been touted for many awards for its cosmopolitan based event, including the UK festival award for best cosmopolitan venue. This years event will be exclusively set outside, weather permitting or not, and will bring out the best in Sheffield’s great outdoor setting.
Previous headliners have included Catfish and the Bottlemen and Dizzee Rascal, whom both featured in last years heavily improved lineup. Perhaps this years most prominent talking point is the inclusion of The Libertines. The famous rock band and former Reading and Leeds headliners are yet to return to Sheffield following their reunion in 2014, Tramlines will provide the ultimate summer setting to see them in the flesh this year.
Tramlines’ first line up announcement is a clear signal of intent, the ever growing festival is sure to be a highlight of this year’s summer festivals.
