Having rapidly grown from a side project to a much loved entity, Carl Barat & The Jackals return once more with the release of their new EP entitled ‘Harder They Come.’
Formed as a result of rigorous try outs centred around London’s Amersham Arms, the band embarked upon tours and the release of debut album ‘Let it Reign’ in 2015. Carl Barat last month seemingly confirmed new Jackals music to the NME which would focus on a “heavier sound.”
It is certain that the band will return to touring life as well, with UK dates being announced alongside the EP. The Jackals will play in venues across the UK including Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club and Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms. Additionally, the London based bands will return to Camden Rocks, a festival which reinvigorates the town into a musical paradise on 3rd June 2017.
‘Harder They Come’ can be purchased via the band’s pledge campaign, which raises money for its production and release. Special purchases can be made via the project including limited edition vinyl, posters and access to a long sold out secret gig in London, already billed to be held in a ‘sweaty’ unannounced location.
It is refreshing to see an artist as productive as Carl Barat. Given the success of The Libertines, The Jackals are another welcome side to his talent. Considering the musical array of his bandmates, it is clear the the band have much promise and should not merely be recognised as just a side project.
