In somewhat less dramatic fashion than in previous years Glastonbury Festival today announced its 2017 line up. Featuring names such as Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, it is once more sure to be a memorable weekend.
Falling on the weekend closest to the summer solstice, the Worthy Farm festival has announced 88 more names to contribute to its massive line up. Whilst in no way does this confirm the entire festivals line up it does act as a poignant example of the A list band names who will head to the farm this summer.
Following the announcement of third headliner Ed Sheeran, acts added to the festival so far now include Barry Gibb, Royal Blood, Sleaford Mods, The Courteeners, Temples, The Moonlandingz, Chic, Alt J and the Kaiser Chiefs.
With the music suited to the final three days of the festival, it is already sure to be a crammed timetable. Many more names are still to be announced across over 100 stages. One of the most impressive features of this years line up is the inclusion of grime artists including chart topper Stormzy, Dizzee Rascal and Boy Better Know.
International pop star Katy Perry also heads to Glastonbury for the first time, it will be clear her set will feature an array of chart classics and cheesy pop songs. Glastonbury certainly seems to be evolving with chart music slowly taking more prominent emphasis upon the festival’s main stages.
Glastonbury Festival takes place from 21-25 June in Somerset, tickets have already sold out. You can view the full line up announcement here: Glastonbury Festival 2017 line-up so far…30 March 2017
