We can’t get enough of Tom Grennan at the minute, with every release comes even more of a desire to see what is yet to come. Having released latest single “Royal Highness” and announced details of a debut album, now more than ever feels like the beginning of an important year or two for the Bedford born singer-songwriter.
“Royal Highness” is quite possibly Grennan’s most upbeat, impressive song to date. It mixes echoey guitar chords and soulful voice to create a mass amalgamation of infectious sound. Flirting with upbeat positivity through love it reflects the lyrical genius behind the singer/songwriters’ voice. Already it is growing to be one of the best releases of the month if not the year, we can’t wait to see what kind of euphoric response it is greeted with in the live setting.
Importantly, ‘Lighting Matches’ has been announced as the title to the singer’s debut album. Released on March 10, such a debut has been eagerly anticipated for quite some time now. Alongside the announcement of a full length UK tour spanning some of the largest venues Grennan has played to date, it is clear that 2018 will be a formative year for the uniquely talented musician.
““Royal Highness” is perhaps his best yet!”
Radio 1’s Annie Mac premiered “Royal Highness” as the Hottest Record in the World just last week, it is already clear that Grennan has the industry support and an ever growing fan base to support his growth. The Mercury Prize is a firm target already!
Having performed on the first edition of This Feeling TV alongside Slaves and DMA’s as well as embarking on a summer festival tour encompassing much of the country, Tom Grennan has already created the perfect platform to kickstart what will be a poignant musical career. “Royal Highness” is perhaps his best yet!
