False Heads are one of the country’s most important upcoming bands, both relevant and promising. Musically, they enter a realm of their own, whether it be in the studio or in the live setting. ‘Yellow’ is the perfect example of such ferocity.
Kicking off with a gritty opening guitar riff, ‘Yellow’ is a journey of youthful intrigue. Heavy drum beat and repetitive guitar chords will of course bear similarity to the likes of Nirvana and Fat White Family, though False Heads merge influences and talent to propel them into a realm of their own. ‘Yellow’s’ chorus encourages singalongs and all round frenzy no doubt making it one of their most intriguing live prospects in a setlist which is constantly growing and evolving.
Formed in the outskirts of East London, the trio have already taken the capital by storm with headline shows at institutions such as Camden’s Dingwall’s and Assembly venues. Their commitment to touring is impressive, each tour devouring much of the country in their wake. With ventures out to Europe growing more and more regular, including nights at ‘Parisian High’ and Croatia’s InMusic Festival, it is clear that the band are the epitome of hard work.
With hard work comes great reputation and ever growing success. False Heads are hot on the lips of fans and industry alike, they are rapidly becoming the face of the country’s underground movement and rightly so. Iggy Pop loves them, their regular outings on his BBC Radio 6 show only proves this. With support from all the right industry people, it is clear that the metaphorical glass ceiling is soon to shatter for the London based band.

The release of previous single ‘Retina’ kickstarted an impressive beginning to 2018. Now, the trio return to venues across the country as part of an ever-growing UK & European tour. It sees the band head to venues such as Camden’s Dingwalls, Nottingham’s Chameleon Arts Cafe and Manchester’s Jimmys NQ. It supports the release of upcoming EP Less Is Better, a collection of songs which will no doubt elevate them to something quite special.
‘Yellow’ is impressive as with any False Heads track, ‘in your face’ rock and roll at its finest. With an EP and massive UK tour in the pipeline, there’s no better time to be a fan of the London based trio!
